How dermaplaning works?

A special tool called dermatome is used for this procedure. By running dermatome evenly all over the face, the top layer of the skin is removed which has dead skin, debris, scar tissues and excess oils over the skin. This helps to appear newer skin cells to develop and makes the skin look healthy and younger. No numbing cream is used as this procedure is completely painless.

How the procedure is carried out?

Before starting dermaplaning procedure, the skin must be properly cleansed with cleansing agents like alpha or beta hydroxy acids. This step loosens the dead skin cells present on the top layer of the skin.

After preparing the skin, a dermatome instrument is evenly run all over the skin at an angle of 45 degree by holding the skin tightly with fingers. By doing so, all the dead skin and unwanted hair are removed from the skin. The patient can opt for numbing cream if needed. A good sunscreen with SPF 30+ is used for the next few days from the treatment

Who are the ideal candidates?

Dermaplaning is done for the people who has no active acnes and cuts on the skin. If the procedure is already planned, it must be rescheduled in a way it can be done after healing.
