How it works?

Fractional co2 laser treatment is a technique that tricks the skin into rejuvenation by removing the superficial layer of skin.

Fractional co2 uses an active laser medium which is a mixture of 3 gases consisting of 10-20% carbon dioxide, 10-20% of helium and the remaining is nitrogen. It passes a precise volume of light onto the skin depending on the condition of the skin which allows the body to produce more collagen.

How is it done?

Before starting the procedure, the topical numbing/anesthetic cream is applied to the region where the co2 laser is been performed. This reduces discomfort or pain while doing the procedure. The cream must stand for 30 to 45 minutes.

The laser machine is adjusted in order to throw a beam of light in a uniform pattern, based on the patient’s skin condition. The intensity of light varies among patients depending on the skin type and the nature of the lesion.

Care for your skin after fractional CO2 laser?

After the fractional co2 laser procedure sunscreen has to be applied to protect the skin from UV rays. There are also some measures has to be taken to protect the skin from damage. They are

Avoid sweeting or exercise for the next 24 hours
Avoid makeup or using any other products to the skin for next 24 hours.
Avoid exposing the skin to the places like swimming, spa, etc.,
Avoid using harsh soap and use only mild cleansers

How long does the result of CO2 laser last?

Based on the concerns of the patient, the results of the fractional co2 laser can last for six months or more. One thing that help your result last is as long as possible wear sunscreen with SPF30 or more. When you are exposed to sun, UV rays from sun can affect the duration of the result. Using right skin care products such as anti-aging products, vitamin serums and good moisturizers help your result last longer.

When will the result of fractional co2 laser begin to appear?

After taking up the treatment, as your skin heals, the collagen builds up and regenerates a new layer of skin. Over the months or two following the treatment, you can notice fine lines and wrinkles diminishes as the collagen fills them up.
